Chiropractic
One of the largest primary-contact health care professions in Ontario, chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on healthcare discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
Chiropractors practice a manual approach, providing diagnosis, treatment and corrective all the way to preventive care for disorders related to the nervous system, spine, pelvis and joints. At Infinity, our chiropractors adjust all joints of the body and often involve some soft tissue work into your care.
Orthotics
Orthotics may be defined as any device used to support and align a part of the body. A foot orthotic is a device that can be discretely inserted into a shoe to support, align, or accommodate foot deformities or poor foot mechanics. Custom-made foot orthotics are precision medical devices that are custom-made with the help of a chiropractor, to correct your specific imbalance and biomechanical misalignment (e.g. high arch or flat feet).
Orthotics can be used for treatment of a variety of lower extremity conditions, such as Plantar Fasciitis. They can relieve pain, improve skeletal alignment or improve the function of your foot and lower limbs.
Orthotics can also improve athletic and occupational performance by realigning poor alignment and reducing excess strain on the feet and lower legs.
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a unique system of integrative health care. It combines conventional medical knowledge, assessment, and diagnosis, with traditional approaches to health, such as dietary and lifestyle counseling, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, physical medicine (manual therapy and manipulations), and homeopathy. It seeks to determine the true underlying cause of illness or dysfunction in order to achieve optimal health and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy derives from the Greek word homeo (similar) pathos (suffering disease) based on the doctrine and law of similia similibus curentur or like cures like. It is when a natural substance; a substance in nature can create the same morbid effect on a healthy body, as in an ailed body.
In homeopathy and regarding health and the role of the vital force entails that all living things pose a force of energy that supports all biophysical and biochemical activity, and separates living and non-living matter. In Aphorism 19 of the Organon of Medicine, when a person falls ill, they will display symptoms as this is the (vital force) body’s normal response to attempting to regain health. For example, when a person has a cold or flu their body’s natural (vital force) response is to expel mucous get rid of bacteria/viruses, cough to help move infection out of the lungs, and will develop a fever as it's harder for bacteria and viruses to survive. Understanding the vital force and its ability to restore health will help to determine the appropriate medicine needed in supporting the vital force. If the vital force is suppressed it could create other symptoms as it tries to restore the body to health. To restore health to the body's organism it is ideal to work with the vital force as opposed to it.
Registered Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapy involves applying a range of techniques to manipulate the soft tissues and joints of the body. The purpose of massage therapy is to prevent, develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function or relieve pain (Massage Therapy Act, 1991).
It is a clinically-oriented health option that achieves undeniable results in the relief of an array of discomforts stemming from stress, muscular overuse and a long list of chronic pain syndromes.
Yoga and WPM Movement Therapy
Yoga is an ancient teaching system designed to reawaken one’s consciousness; to self-realize that our true nature is inner peace and to feel ‘at one’ with all things. By using physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual tools, we learn how to bring our emotions under control, to be unaffected by negativity or stress and to restore balance, health and vitality.
Of the distinct pathways to Yoga, the Hatha yoga branch is the physical component of the scientific path called Raja Yoga. Through the use of posture (asana), breath control (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana), Hatha yoga prepares the body, mind and spirit for deep self-awareness, self-realization and a return to our most natural and authentic selves. It forces us to slow down, to tune in to the subtle ebb and flow of our breath energies, to connect us to our body’s intuitive guidance system (IGS), to know ourselves so that we gain the confidence to embrace change, to trust our body’s wisdom and to one day embrace a self-guided home practice.
Whether you are about to practise for the first time or you are an experienced yogi, TODAY is the best day to reach for your full potential and create a more balanced, healthy and fulfilled life.
Pilates
Classical Pilates was created in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates, a German-born soldier who created a rehabilitation practice to help him and other soldiers get back to work after injury. Joseph created his new approach to movement, exercise and body-conditioning to re-establish functional mobility and strength. His classical method is practiced with an imprinted spine which lengthens the lower back towards the mat during most exercises.
The Stott Pilates method was created in 1988 by Moira Stott (Merrithew) and Lindsay Merrithew as a contemporary sequence-based version of the Classical Pilates. Stott focused more on preserving the natural neutral curves of the spine by strengthening the core and re-balancing all the surrounding muscles, fascia, ligaments, and joints. It still adheres to the major principles of Classical Pilates but focuses more on restoring the natural curves of the spine and restoring balance in a stress-free neutral postural alignment.
The major difference between the Stott and the Joseph Pilates' method is the approach to postural alignment. While the classical method utilizes an imprinted spine, or flat back, during most exercises, the Stott method progresses to strengthening a neutral spine and maintaining the natural curvature of the back. The result is a body that is balanced, aligned, looks fit, feels revitalized, and moves with ease!
**We all want to live pain-free. Pilates can help!! If you want a safe, intelligent exercise that can release sore stiff muscles, relieve aching joints, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, improve posture, performance, strength, flexibility, and endurance without risking injury or building bulk, Stott Pilates might be perfect for you! Come to class and restore your inner strength and vitality!! You will never see your posture in the same way again!!
Possible Benefits of Pilates:
This stress-relieving method of exercise restores the body to the safest most shock-absorbing position to live in, neutral! The goal is pain-free living and the focus is on breath facilitated movements to safely release, lengthen, and/or strengthen your muscles, joints, fascia and tendons. Those who routinely practice Pilates benefit from:
*improved posture with longer leaner muscles
*core strength and stability
*better mobility, flexibility and endurance,
*improved balance and coordination
*some relief from stress and pain,
*improved kin-aesthetic awareness to help prevent injures.
*restoring and preserving natural anatomical alignment
*safe exercises that deliver optimal strength without adding bulk
Due to the progressive levels of the Stott exercises Pilates can be used by a wide range of people including those looking for a safe and effective post-rehabilitation treatment, by those hoping to enhance their athletic performance, and has options for every other level in-between! This is a intelligent mind-body exercise that produces amazing results and can increase the self-confidence of those who practice.
Pilates Beginner
Known as an “intelligent exercise that is safe and effective“ this beginner Stott Pilates class teaches students how their bodies function with five basic principles - breathing, pelvic placement, rib cage placement, shoulder movement and stabilization and head and cervical placement. When used correctly these principles strengthen the core, protect the spine and realign the body to a neutral, safe, shock absorbing position to live in. This class is designed to help students understand how their muscles work inside and out.
Intermediate Pilates
Take your core work to the next level. Muscular imbalances can’t hide in this class, the Pilates exercises find them and help to correct them. Building on the foundation of the basic principles learned in the beginner class in this level the exercises are harder and the pace is faster so some Stott Pilates experience is required. A sharpened mind/body connection and improved movement coordination are just some of the benefits the Intermediate Stott Pilates repertoire have to offer.
Physiotherapy
Coaching

They may initially hire a Health Coach to implement an optimal bed time routine, then may start to exercise or develop consistent meditation practices. Switching to a healthier lifestyle affects everything. With increased health, energy and motivation, you’ll be able to do more, be there for others and live your life to the fullest.

Reiki
The reiki healing approach to care helps to heal and balance all levels of the body – physical, emotional and spiritual. Reiki has been practiced for thousands of years to help balance emotions and spiritual disturbances, ease tension and stress, and support the body in facilitating its own healing process.
Reflexology
A non-invasive therapeutic treatment applied to the feet using various finger and thumb techniques to pinpoint imbalances in the body’s systems.
Based on the premise that the body's natural energy meridians are connected to reflex points located in the feet, your practitioner pinpoints & breaks up "deposits" stuck in the feet thus enabling the body’s natural energy flow.
Sound Therapy
Sound Therapy has been practiced for thousands of years. This practice is a holistic method of working with the body's subtle energy rhythms often leading to profound and long lasting effects. Based on vibration, a popular scientific field of study, we have found that everything is made of molecules which are vibrating all the time. Sound Therapy seeks to not only balance, but raise one's vibration which aids in reaching a greater sense of overall stability and wellbeing.
